Park

The Park Unit manages the outdoor environment owned by Region Gotland to provide the public with a pleasant park, nature, and urban environment.

Maintenance and upkeep of playgrounds, bathing areas, and restrooms are included. Snow removal during the winter months and cleaning of walking and cycling paths also occur. We are about 21 employees, and during the season, we are around 45 working across Gotland.

Your Responsibilities

The Park Unit manages the outdoor environment owned by Region Gotland to provide the public with a pleasant park, nature, and urban environment.

Your tasks include maintaining green areas and the upkeep of playgrounds, bathing areas, and visitor sites. You will also perform cleaning of restrooms as well as walking and cycling paths.

The seasonal work lasts for six months.

Who Are You?

This position requires gardening education of at least 3-6 months and professional experience in park/gardening work, which must be substantiated with certificates and 2 relevant references.

A valid driver's license B, manual transmission, is required.

Experience with systems is an advantage as we use mapping systems in the profession. We prefer that you have professional experience from the park/green space sector and familiarity with handling machinery, both small and large, such as lawn mowers, grass trimmers, compact loaders, and/or tool carriers.

As a person, you should be easy to collaborate with, as we work in teams, while also being able to independently take responsibility for the execution of tasks and complete them. You should be a person with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Good communication is important as we work with service towards our customers and operations. The work is physically demanding, and therefore you need to have good physical fitness.

Since we have maintenance assignments within various operations, an extract from the criminal record will be requested.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
